Arkel has constructed many difficult pipeline projects over the years including this complicated and time sensitive lump-sum design/build project. The Vulcan Chlor-Alkali project involved the installation of 10 pipelines and fiber optic communications pathways within a highly congested Industrial Plant Corridor in south Louisiana.

The Pipelines transported various feedstock chemicals, including Chlorine, HCl, Solvents and Caustics, to the local plants through various pipeline materials ranging from Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel to HDPE.

This project entailed numerous “bundled” directional bores over a mile in length to resolve congestion and Rights-of Way issues. The project was completed within budget and on-time so as to not delay the start up of 3 plant expansions in the local area.
