Arkel has constructed over 15 chemical pipelines in the US Gulf South Industrial corridor. Our most recent pipeline project was a pipeline to transport benzene from the Dow Chemical Plant in Plaquemine, Louisiana to the TOTAL Petrochemicals Plant in Carville, Louisiana.

The 22 mile pipeline project replaced delivery by barge to the TOTAL dock thereby alleviating dock congestion as well as affording a safer mode of transportation. It included an intensive permitting process for crossing culturally sensitive areas, as well as a 3,400’ directional bore under the Mississippi River.
