Electrical Power Generation Equipment Repair
In early 2005, the power generation/distribution equipment/ systems providing electricity to 10,000+ US Marines stationed at Al-Taqqadum Airbase (Camp TQ) was in a severe state of disrepair. “Rolling brown-outs” and power surges were the norm, affecting other military operations and morale.
Since April 2005, Arkel has provided continuous power generation/distribution services at Camp TQ. And, by May, 2006 Arkel had established itself as the preeminent power generation/distribution services company in western Iraq. The USMC even awarded contracts to Arkel on a sole-source basis as a direct result of the excellent level of service provided by Arkel including the repair of US government-owned generators through Al-Anbar Province as well as “routine” O&M and repair of more than 800 US government owned generators at various FOB’s throughout Iraq.
Word of Arkel’s expert power generation/distribution services spread throughout other US military bases and was heralded as “…the type of contractor you want to go to war with. As the director of Base Operations, my life was made easier knowing that this contractor was in the fight.”¹
