Jindal’s Former Commissioner of Administration, Angele Davis, to Join Arkel International

Baton Rouge, LA - July 28, 2010 - Angele Davis will join Arkel International as Vice President of Strategic Programs in early August where she will be responsible for identifying and evaluating strategic acquisitions and business partnerships and alliances, business development strategies and capitalization, and overseeing strategic planning.

Davis has served as Commissioner of Administration for the Jindal administration since January 2008, and recently announced that she would be leaving in early August to pursue opportunities in the private sector.

"The addition of Angele Davis significantly strengthens the Arkel team," said John Moore, CEO of Arkel International, "and we look forward to what Angele brings to us with her admirable record in the public and private sector."

As Governor Jindal's chief budget architect for the past two-and-a-half years, Davis oversaw significant reductions in the size and cost of state government, eliminating more than 6,000 fulltime positions and managing a total budget that has shrunk by more than $10 billion.  She received national recognition for her privatization and budget reform initiatives, and was selected as an "Innovator in Action" for 2009 by the Reason Foundation.  Davis has contributed more than thirteen years in public service and is known for her complex organizational management skills, budget and public finance experience, and strategic use of technology to run government more like a business.
